Best season: summer. Summer offers the clearest opportunity to use the lake and trails — expect cool, comfortable high-elevation weather with daytime highs typically in the mid-50s to mid-70s °F (13–24 °C) and nights in the mid-30s to mid-40s °F (2–7 °C). This is peak season for fishing, boating, swimming, wildflower meadows and long alpine hikes, with most facilities and access fully open. Weekends can be moderately busy, so plan midweek visits or arrive early for quieter lakeside campsites; be prepared for late-af Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: November, December, January, February
Review signal strongly positive for early September; fewer campers and nice weather make fall appealing.
