Natural Features and SceneryThe campground occupies an alpine setting where white fir forest meets the edge of Butterfly Lake. At this elevation, wildflowers bloom once the snow melts. Lupines, arnicas, and columbines among them. The Uinta Mountains are one of the few east-west trending ranges in North America, and the glacially carved valleys hold numerous alpine lakes connected by trail systems. Cool mountain air and the scent of pine are constants.
