About this campground

Step into a piece of Arizona's living history at Crescent Moon Ranch Cabin, where the whispers of Oak Creek blend with the timeless beauty of Sedona's red rock country. This lovingly preserved homestead welcomes guests year-round with three spacious bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and dual kitchens spread across generous living spaces. Wake each morning to views of Cathedral Rock painting the sky, then spend your days exploring tree-lined creek paths or simply soaking in the serenity that has drawn visitors to this magical landscape for generations.
Crescent Moon Ranch Cabin is a rustic ranch house offering a unique camping experience with modern amenities. It serves as a blend of traditional camping elements and comfortable lodging.
Historical SignificanceBuilt by the pioneering ranchers who first called this land home, Crescent Moon Ranch Cabin stands as an authentic testament to Arizona's homesteading heritage. The original craftsmanship tells stories in every hand-hewn beam and weathered stone, creating an atmosphere where past and present merge seamlessly. While some spaces retain their rustic character—what one guest fondly called the 'stunk maid section'—these quirks only add to the cabin's undeniable historic charm and authenticity.
Weather and SeasonsExperience Sedona's dramatic seasonal tapestry in complete comfort, thanks to modern heating and air conditioning systems. Summer brings warm, sun-drenched days perfect for creek-side adventures, while winter transforms the landscape into a crisp, high-desert wonderland. Spring wildflowers and autumn's golden cottonwoods along Oak Creek create unforgettable backdrops for your stay, making any season the perfect time to visit.
ElevationPerched at 4,000 feet where the Colorado Plateau meets the sky, the cabin offers the perfect high-desert climate year-round. This sweet spot at the base of the majestic Mogollon Rim provides cooler temperatures than the valley floor below, while still basking in Sedona's famous sunshine. The elevation creates ideal conditions for both adventure and relaxation, with crisp morning air giving way to warm afternoons.
Natural Features and SceneryNature's masterpiece unfolds in every direction from your doorstep, where Oak Creek's gentle murmur provides the soundtrack to days spent beneath towering cottonwoods and sycamores. Sedona's world-famous red rock cliffs rise like ancient sentinels, their colors shifting from rose to crimson with the changing light. Tree-lined pathways invite morning strolls along the creek, while the surrounding high desert landscape offers endless opportunities to discover hidden pools, wildlife, and the profound tranquility that defines this corner of the American Southwest.
Geological RegionNestled within the Coconino National Forest at the dramatic base of the Mogollon Rim, the cabin sits at the crossroads of geological wonder. This high-desert oasis showcases millions of years of Earth's artistry, where ancient seabeds transformed into the iconic red sandstone cliffs that make Sedona legendary. Oak Creek has carved its way through this landscape, creating a riparian corridor that provides a lush contrast to the surrounding desert. Here, where water meets stone and forest meets sky, you'll discover why this unique geological region has captivated hearts for centuries.
