About this campground

Nestled deep in the heart of the Cascade foothills, Alpine Meadows Campground offers an intimate escape along the pristine waters of the Chiwawa River. This hidden gem, tucked 21 miles beyond Fish Lake, rewards adventurous souls with eight secluded campsites spread across a tranquil valley floor. With its first-come, first-served policy, early birds can claim their piece of riverside paradise, where the gentle murmur of flowing water provides nature's perfect soundtrack for your outdoor adventure.
The campground offers 8 campsites on a first-come, first-served basis. It is suitable for both tent and RV camping.
ElevationPerched at a comfortable 2,600 feet above sea level, Alpine Meadows enjoys the perfect balance of mountain atmosphere without the thin air of higher elevations. This moderate altitude creates an ideal climate for camping, where cool mountain breezes temper warm summer days and crisp nights invite cozy campfire gatherings under star-filled skies.
Natural Features and SceneryThe Chiwawa River serves as the campground's centerpiece, its crystal-clear waters carving a scenic path through the valley floor where towering evergreens frame mountain vistas. Morning mist often dances above the river's surface, while afternoon sunlight filters through the forest canopy, creating a magical play of light and shadow. The surrounding meadows burst with wildflowers in season, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds, while the riverside location offers endless opportunities for peaceful contemplation or exciting exploration.
