Spring brings the best waterfall flows from snowmelt, with daytime temps around 45-65°F and nights 30-40°F. The understory greens up and wildflowers appear. Hiking and photography peak during this window, though weekend traffic picks up on the byway. Summer warms to the low 80s, and the forest canopy keeps sites cooler. Winter can drop to 26°F at night with over 9 inches of snow. Note: the campground is currently listed as temporarily closed, so confirm status with the Forest Service before planning a trip.
