Best Time to Camp at Little Falls Campground

Fall delivers the best conditions. Daytime highs run mid-50s to upper-60s, nights drop to the mid-30s to low-50s. Trails stay comfortable for long hikes, mosquitoes thin out, and autumn brings dramatic color plus peak botanical interest around Dollar Mountain. The three-site setup feels very private this time of year. Be aware of limited deer hunting activity in fall. Summer sees warm days good for river exploration, though reviews note the campground can get overrun by transients and trimmigrants during good weather. Spring brings wildflowers but also unpredictable showers.

    About Little Falls Campground

Little Falls Campground sits along the Illinois River corridor in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest at 1,375 feet elevation. The three primitive tent sites run $5-10 per night on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring, plus there's a vault toilet and a communal amphitheater with a large fire pit. No water on-site, and you pack out your own trash.
The campground caters primarily to tent campers and has only three designated campsites. There is no indication of accommodations for RVs, groups, or luxury camping options.
