Best Time to Camp at Deer Creek Group /Equestrian Campground

Spring offers the best combination of mild weather and scenery. Daytime highs run 50–70°F with cool nights in the 35–50°F range, ideal for horseback riding, paddling the reservoir, fishing, and birdwatching as migrants return. Trails and lakeshore are green and blooming, and bugs are lighter early in the season. Weekends fill up, so book early. Summer brings full access to swimming and lake activities but also crowds, mosquitoes, and humid heat. Shoulder seasons. Late April through May and September through October. Deliver cooler temperatures and lighter crowds, though some amenities and programs scale back. The campground is open year-round, but winter camping and riding will be cold with limited trail and lake use.
