About this campground

Tucked away in the rugged Fleecer Mountain Range, Beaverdam Campground offers a serene escape where 15 thoughtfully designed campsites await along the babbling waters of Divide Creek. This intimate mountain retreat welcomes RVs up to 50 feet and tent campers alike, serving as your perfect basecamp for fishing expeditions and trail adventures. Here, the rhythm of rushing water and rustling pines replaces the buzz of daily life, creating an authentic Montana wilderness experience.
Beaverdam Campground offers standard tent and trailer camping accommodations. It does not support RV-specific amenities, as there are no hookups available, but trailers up to 50 feet can be accommodated.
Weather and SeasonsSummer transforms Beaverdam into a sun-drenched paradise from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with warm days that can climb to a toasty 90°F—perfect for creek-side relaxation and mountain exploration. Early season adventurers should prepare for muddy spring roads and lingering snow patches, while autumn visitors might encounter similar conditions as winter approaches. Pack your bug spray for those balmy summer evenings when mosquitoes and horseflies join the outdoor party, a small price for accessing this mountain sanctuary.
ElevationPerched at 6,500 feet where the air grows crisp and clear, Beaverdam Campground offers a refreshing high-altitude retreat from summer's heat. This elevated position rewards visitors with sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding peaks while delivering naturally cool nights perfect for campfire stories and stargazing. The thin mountain air adds an invigorating quality to every outdoor adventure.
Natural Features and SceneryNature paints a masterpiece at Beaverdam, where ancient lodgepole pines tower overhead and trembling aspens promise golden autumn displays. Divide Creek weaves through the landscape, its crystal waters hidden beneath curtains of thick willows that create secret fishing spots and wildlife corridors. Massive boulder formations punctuate the terrain like nature's sculptures, while beneath the forest canopy, a carpet of native grasses bursts with seasonal wildflowers. This untamed landscape delivers the authentic Rocky Mountain wilderness experience, complete with breathtaking mountain vistas that remind you why Montana is called Big Sky Country.
Geological RegionThe Fleecer Mountain Range embraces Beaverdam Campground in its ancient granite arms, where millions of years of geological drama have sculpted a landscape of soaring peaks and tumbling creeks. Divide Creek has carved its path through this mountainous terrain, creating a riparian oasis amid forests of stately lodgepole pines and quaking aspens. This dynamic ecosystem offers both sun-dappled shade for hot afternoons and spectacular displays when autumn paints the aspen groves in brilliant gold.
