If you want shade and less highway noise: Sunset Point sits on the same lake but has tall pines shading sites and no reported road noise complaints.

If you need showers that actually work: East Portal has hot showers plus electric hookups and a camp store, unlike Stillwater's inconsistent showers.

If you want wilder and more primitive: Arapaho Bay offers basic tent and RV sites away from the highway with the same lake access but less development.
